Briana R. Priester, MT-BC is a board certified music therapist, music educator, and family advocate who specializes in music education and early childhood development and intervention. She works with families of all shapes and sizes focusing on the therapeutic uses of music in early childhood development, family bonding, and play. Briana loves music of all kinds, but the first song she fell in love with was Summertime performed by Louis Armstrong. Briana loves playing with her niece and nephew—and even wrote some of the My MusicBox songs for them! She loves her cats, hot tea, and reading, camping, cooking, and doing yoga.
Michael Priester, DM joined the team in 2016 as Chief of Operations for Studio B Music for Living, LLC. Adding to his academic work as Instructor of Double Bass at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA, he recently became a candidate for the Certified Financial Planner (TM) designation. Michael also maintains an active schedule performing with the Pittsburgh Opera and Roanoke Symphony. He started playing the double bass when he was 10 years old. His favorite classical composer is Bach, and his favorite musical group is Pearl Jam. Michael also enjoys aviation, soccer and wrestling refereeing, and fine scale modeling. He loves to eat Indian food, camp and hike, cook, and read books on Harriers, Star Trek, and science fiction.
Briana and Michael believe in music education for all children and the power of musical play for positive change.
